Prototyping the Future of Human Connection
Tngl Lab is the new unit of Tngl Studio. It’s our space for looking beyond the present and shaping futures where connection, sustainability, and resilience are strengthened.
We combine foresight and design: mapping signals, imagining multiple possibilities, and turning them into tangible prototypes. Every step is grounded in life-centred design, sustainability, and the UN 2030 Agenda.
What We
Do
01
Scan — explore signals, trends, and community perspectives.
We begin by listening. That means horizon scanning for global signals, following cultural shifts, and talking directly with the communities we serve. It’s about spotting weak signals as much as dominant trends, and making sense of what they could mean for human connection.
03
Prove — study inclusion, ecological impact, and long-term value.
Every prototype is tested against deeper measures: Does it include voices usually left out? Does it reduce ecological harm? Does it have the potential to last, not just trend? We treat “proof” as more than data — it’s evidence that an idea respects both people and the systems we live within.
02
Prototype — create life-centred models and scenarios that make futures visible.
We give form to ideas so people can see, feel, and respond to them. Using life-centred design, we create models, scenarios, and tangible tools that turn abstract futures into something real.

04
Package — deliver toolkits and methods partners can carry forward.
We turn what works into toolkits, methods, and services that partners can adapt and use themselves, so ideas move out of the Lab and into the world.
Why it Matters

Foresight
prepare for multiple futures, not just the most likely one

Strategic design
connect system-level challenges with tangible solutions.

Life-centred sustainability
design for durability, inclusivity, and environmental responsibility.
Tngl Ecosystem
The Lab is one part of a bigger system: the Tngl Ecosystem. While Lab has its own mission and autonomy, it works together with Studio and Offline Moments to amplify what we build and how it lands in the world.
-
Lab feeds the ecosystem through research, foresight & prototyping — generating insights that power both internal work and offers to external partners.
-
It operates both as a core of Tngl’s creative engine and as a service: helping other organisations, collaborators, or communities experiment, test, and imagine.
-
The Lab’s outputs often become inputs for Studio (design, production), or are tested in real world through Offline Moments — the result is a cycle of feedback, iteration, and growth across all parts.
